Something I've been working on for some time - a tribute to some real soul music that's very close to my heart. I can't remember the first time I heard Burial, but I must have been around 12. His music had a devastating effect on me, I didn't know music, especially electronic beats, could do that, be so atmospheric - be so expressive - be so human. I made the album to replicate that first experience of Burial where I would listen to his stuff endlessly and all the tracks would just meld together - pure discovery and pure immersion. His music today still brings me back to a very specific time in my teens, delinquency, cold brutalist structures, night buses, friends. The album and the video are not just a tribute to William Bevan and his music but also to the UK and the city of London - an often dark and unforgiving place but with a strange beauty.
